Germany's Sabine Lisicki followed up her monumental upset of Serena Williams with an efficient 6 3 6 3 win in the Wimbledon quarterfinals over Estonia's Kaia Kanepi on Tuesday.
Lisicki has reached the semifinals for the second time having also made it in 2011 when she lost to Maria Sharapova. She'll face fourth seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland who beat Li Na of China in a rain delayed three setter.
I've had some great challenges on the way to the semis and now I'm ready for the semis '' Lisicki said via the Associated Press.
Sports books made the 23 year old Lisicki the tournament favorite after she snapped Williams' 34 match winning streak.
On Tuesday Lisicki won 79 percent of the points on her first serve and was broken only once. She hit 23 winners including six on drop shots to Kanepi's 13. Kanepi fell to 0 5 in Grand Slam quarterfinals.
Radwanska advanced with a 7 6 (5) 4 6 6 2 win as she tries to return to the finals where she lost to Williams last year. The 24 year old Pole is the highest seeded player left in the women's draw.
